Questions

Before you give

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Whether a gift is tax-deductible depends on SDI Travel Trust’s registered status and on the rules where you pay tax. No claim about deductibility is made on this page. Contact the team before giving if the answer affects your decision, and they will tell you what applies.

Gifts support the academic scholarship program, the travel initiatives and community engagement activity. Allocation between programs and running costs is set out in the organization’s published financial information.

No. Awards are decided by the scholarship review under the program terms, and a gift cannot be directed to a named applicant. This protects the review from being influenced by who is funding it.

Yes. Receipting is handled by the donation system once online giving is enabled. Until then, a gift arranged directly with the team is receipted by the team.

The donation and refund policy sets out how a regular gift is cancelled and when a refund can be made. It is linked in the footer of every page.

No. Points are earned through the member referral program. A donation supports the programs directly and does not change a member’s points balance or their standing in a scholarship review.

Other ways to help

Support that is not a donation

Qualifying travel purchases generate support for the programs at no additional cost to the member.

Participating businesses contribute on eligible purchases and offer a member discount.

Organizations can sponsor the scholarship fund or partner with the programs directly.

Membership subscriptions fund the travel initiatives and the academic scholarship program.

Support our mission

Give directly, partner with the programs, or ask how your organization can help.

What a gift does

Three things giving pays for

Scholarship awards

The awards themselves, at the tiers the programme publishes.

Running the programme

Assessing eligibility, verifying balances and administering applications.

Community initiatives

The educational and community work that sits alongside the scholarships.

Before you give

The questions a giver should have answered

Is this tax-deductible?

That depends on the organisation's status and on where you pay tax. If the answer would change your decision, ask the team first — it is not something a web page should answer for you.

Through the payment provider the site has connected. SDI Travel Trust does not store card details.

Whether recurring giving is available depends on the provider connected to this site. The donation form shows what it can actually take.

The donation and refund policy sets out the position and how to ask. It is linked in the footer of every page.
